Vancouver announced today that Andrew Lugsdin is returning for his third season as head coach of the Nighthawks.
Entering his third consecutive season as head coach, the Vancouver ultimate veteran has steadily built a powerful Nighthawks team.
After a slow start to last season, the Nighthawks caught fire and made it all the way to the MLU Championship before losing to the D.C. Current.
It could be hard to match or surpass that achievement this year, given that there will be a major roster turnover this offseason, but Lugsdin has made a good start by re-signing six veterans from the last two seasons – including two of the best defensive and offensive players in the league last season – to help the team adjust to all the changes.
“I am very appreciative of the support that the returning veterans have shown in signing with the Nighthawks,” said Lugsdin. “They are great players and great people, and we’re lucky to have them on the team.”
An in-depth look at Lugsdin will appear next week.
