In a way, the greatest success story of the Vancouver Nighthawks’ first MLU season has been off the field.

The fans in the stands of their home, Thunderbird Stadium, have already set the single game MLU attendance record of 1175, and it looks like the Nighthawks will also have the highest average attendance in the league. And those fans are so noisy, and so knowledgeable about the game, that even opposing players have commented on it.

So the team has decided to give back to their amazing fans by holding a free Season End Street Party outside Thunderbird Stadium before this Saturday’s final game of the season against Seattle Rainmakers. And it will be very kid-friendly too!

Starting at 4 p.m. just outside the stadium there will be a number of fun activities, and chances to win prizes including gift certificates to The Reef restaurant plus Nighthawks merchandise including discs, T-shirts, and even a coveted hoodie.

You can play some frickets or disc golf or pickup ultimate.

You can challenge a Nighthawk to win prizes.

You can get an autograph from a Nighthawks player or get your photo taken with a player or Mo Hawkins, the Nighthawks mascot.

There will also be face painting for kids (and kids at heart) plus food trucks if you get hungry having all that fun.

And it’s all free! Well, not the food trucks…

Then at 7 p.m. you can continue the fun by attending the Nighthawks’ final game of this first MLU season inside the stadium. You can buy tickets for the game here.
