One of the strengths of the marketing efforts by the Vancouver Nighthawks has been making connections with other disc organisations. An agreement with the thriving Vancouver Ultimate League has brought league teams en masse to Nighthawk games, and at the last home game many of the participants in the BC Junior Provincial Championships, held in Vancouver this year, were in the stands.

Flower Bowl is a longstanding tournament that has brought the top club teams from BC, Alberta, Washington, and Oregon to Vancouver every June for more than 20 years. Since it is being held this weekend on fields only a few hundred metres from Thunderbird Stadium, home of the Nighthawks, it’s a natural fit. A deal has been worked out with the tournament that will get each Flower Bowl team some free entrance and beverage tickets, and details are being finalised on making the Nighthawks game the party of the tournament.

This means that in addition to the usual fan base, the stands will be full of knowledgeable enthusiastic ultimate players ready to unwind from a hard day of ultimate play by relaxing, having some refreshments, and cheering for someone else doing the hard running.

The weather looks great and this should be a fantastic night of ultimate. Get your tickets here.
