With significant roster turnover following the 2015 season, the Vancouver Nighthawks were thrilled to retain 2015 Nighthawks’ Outstanding Defensive Player and Rookie of the Year, Nathan Lam. A crucial part of the 2015 roster as a rookie, Lam was looked to fill the void as one of the veteran players going into 2016.

The 30-year old cutter out of the University of Victoria was primarily a defensive player in 2015 (finishing 3rd on the team in blocks with 10), but spilt his time between O-line and D-line in new Head Coach Patrick Gatien‘s system this past season. Lam quickly integrated into the offensive mindset, finishing the season in the Top 5 on the team for scoring (5th) and goals (3rd).

Technically a cutter, Lam is able to use his athleticism to get open, but also has some very polished throws after the catch, making him one of the best facilitators on the team, moving the disc downfield with skill. Not often in the spotlight, Lam was voted the Most Underrated Nighthawks by his teammates in 2015.
